What’s better than escaping the cold winter weather for a sunny beach vacation?! Nothing! Of course, our current times make it a bit difficult to travel, but with catching COVID after barely leaving the house for 8 months, I decided to take advantage of our immunity. Recently my husband and I went on a quick trip to Marco Island, FL. I’m a crazy person and look forward to packing for a trip. I’m usually packed WEEKS in advance; however, this trip was booked very last minute, so I just pieced together some outfits. Here is a quick vacation outfit roundup from our trip, along with some inspo. Check out my review on our stay at the JW Marriott Marco Island and our experience traveling during COVID.
I usually pack a mix of one-pieces and bikinis for trips. I love that if we have anything planned during the day, I can throw on a pair of shorts over my one piece. Super easy day look. In terms of bikinis, some of my favorites are from Luli Fama. I have a few different bikinis from this line. I’ve linked the one I’m wearing and other beautiful options below. They have a huge selection of tops and bottoms, and I find that their suits are pretty flattering; however, their pricing is a bit more expensive. For more budget-friendly options, I’m a fan of several swimsuits from Amazon. They have some fantastic, affordable options. This one-piece is one of my favorites, and I own it in several colors. Show Me Your Mumu swimsuits are also among my favorites. I own two of the Topanga one pieces (my rainbow swimsuit and then the map swimsuit that I wore on my cruise last year), but they have several others that I love. Their styles are super flattering, and the prints are gorgeous. Express is another great store to find flattering swimwear, but they only carry it in season.
On a beach vacation, I usually wear coverups during the day and then pack cute rompers or dresses for night time. Marshall’s/TJ’s have great affordable coverups. Amazon is also a great place to find all sorts of different options for cheap! Sometimes I like to splurge on a unique coverup, especially if it’s one that I know I’ll wear for many trips. Revolve and Nordstrom both carry some gorgeous options, but the prices can be a bit higher. I’ve also purchased some of my favorite coverups while on vacation, especially in the Caribbean. When we were in St Martin a few years back, I bought 3 from one of the beach vendors.
I rarely pack heels for a beach vacation. It’s all about the sandal life for me. I have a few pairs of the rockstud sandals by Valentino, as they are super comfortable, perfect pool slides and can then be dressed up for the night time. You can find them on sale all the time! Like here and here. Make sure to size up in these as they run small. Amazon also has a great pair of dupes for $15. For fun designer pool slides, I love Fendi, Gucci, and Givenchy. For the evening, I usually wear my Hermes Oran slides; Steve Madden has a great dupe here. Linked a few of my favorite options below!
As I mentioned above, I’m typically in coverups during the day and dresses during the night. I rarely splurge on clothing. I find a ton of gorgeous dresses on Amazon; I have this one in 3 different prints. Red Dress Boutique also has some cute options for great prices! My challenge is many times maxi dresses are too long on me since I’m 5’3 and don’t bring heels. An excellent option for us short gals is rompers. They are comfortable, flirty, and oh-so chic. I also usually pack a pair of shorts, my go-to shorts are from Top Shop, but Levi’s also has some great ones. My go-to travel outift usually includes leggings and layers. I love traveling in my Spanx leggings and I always pack my jean jacket on every trip.
