My Skincare Routine with Drunk Elephant

When I first got pregnant with Elliott, I decided to review my entire skincare routine for more pregnancy-friendly products. I stumbled upon the Drunk Elephant line in a Peloton Facebook group and purchased their sample bag called The Littles.
Drunk Elephant’s philosophy focuses on avoiding and removing 6 ingredients that they believe cause skin issues, including:
- essential oils
- drying alcohols
- silicones, chemical
- sunscreens
- fragrances/dyes
- SLS
After a few days, I noticed a difference in my skin. I naturally have pretty dry skin, but after using Drunk Elephant for 2 weeks my skin was bright, soft, and refreshed. Fast forward 2 years later and the majority of my skincare is by Drunk Elephant. I purchased the full size of almost every product from the set.
Every morning I start my day by mixing a drop of Virgin Marula Oil with the Vitamin C serum and applying the C-Tango Eye Cream. I’m obsessed with this oil and use it twice daily instead of moisturizer. It doesn’t overly oil my skin at all and absorbs nicely. About once or twice a week I throw in a drop of the Tan-Luxe self-illuminating face drops to give my pale face a healthy tan and glow. These are the best self-tanner face drops on the market and I’ve tried several. I broke out from a few, some turned me into an Oompa Loompa, and then I fell in love with Tax-Luxe. I haven’t been wearing much makeup since I’m working from home, so this is usually all I do in the morning.
If I do have plans, I tend to put on a little bit of makeup, starting with a primer. I have recently been obsessing over this Tatcha one. Next, I put on my Dr. Jart BB cream. I’ve been wearing this BB cream for at least the last 5 years. I stock up almost every sale. I wear both this Detox version and also the Premium, which seems to be out of stock at Sephora currently, but available on the Dr. Jart Site. These Korean BB creams offer medium coverage and a ton of skin perks including blemish control, anti-aging, SPF, and so on. I absolutely prefer wearing BB cream over foundation as it melts in with my skin and gives me that “I’m not wearing any makeup” look. I recently tried the Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint, which has been raved about. I liked it, but it definitely feels heavier on than the Dr. Jart; however, Ilia has way more diverse color options. Dr. Jart usually only has 1 or 2 shades, which doesn’t always match everyone’s skin tone.
After BB cream, I will set with Laura Mercier Finishing Powder and top off with a bronzer and blush. This Nars Multiple in Orgasm is my go-to blush. It goes on like a blush and highlighter in one! Next up is brows and mascara. I rarely wear eyeshadow! Finally, I spritz to finish with setting spray and I’m off! I’m currently using the rose gold 24k mist by FARSÁLI. It gives my skin a dewy finish.
At night, I cleanse my makeup off with the Drunk Elephant cleanser. I’ve tried at least 10 face washes and this is the first one that doesn’t dry out my skin. It leaves my face super soft and glowing, melting away all my make up. Next up, I mix the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Oil (same oil from the morning) with the Framboos Night Serum and finish with my ultimate holy grail eye cream by Sisley. It’s a splurge, but this eye cream is the best of the best. Unfortunately, Sephora doesn’t carry Sisley, but I wait for it to go on sale at Bloomingdales or Saks. Sometimes Costco has it for an amazing price as well!
If you are interested in Drunk Elephant’s skin line, the best way to try it is through the Littles collection.
Will you guys be shopping the Sephora sale this year? What are you eying??
